RE: Alberta deer hunters & rattling
Thanks JD...I agree here's to next year!!!
Moose & Elk - I usually go with failsafe or nosler parts but this year couldn't get the reloads to group in 140 or 160 so I went with the 154Gr Hornady Interlokts SP and they performed very well. Accuracy was sub 1"/100. They were handloaded as well (I don't handload yet, just got a guy who loads for me right now). I will probably try and get back to the failsafes or similar next fall as I have always had excellent results from these bullets on the bigger critters...the interlockts worked but I think they might be a bit fragile for elk to be considered my goto bullet.
Deer - I use Nosler Ballistic Tips or Hornady SST's. Both bullets have performed flawlessly in the field and on the range for me over the years in a variety of calibers and grs. In the 7mm rem mag I personally like the 150's but I know others find the 140's good. I was hoping to try the accubond(nosler) and Interbond(Hornady) this fall but didn't have time...those will be my next trail/error bullets for deer. Again in 150 grains.
How about U???
