I look at it this way: if I shot a deer, let it expire, came back and it was completely eaten up, I wouldn't tag it. Nothing to tag. Not sure this is right or wrong, but that's what I would do and wouldn't feel that I did something wrong. I would feel bad that I killed an animal I couldn't eat, but I guess the critters out there are interested in filling their bellies too.
