RE: Poll on hunting in high fences.
I am on the fence on this one.
As a city raised guy I did not ever consider hunting until I was over 40 and moved to Texas. I now enjoy hunting on low fence private land greatly. The game come and go as they wish. My 6x4 Buck I took this year certainly will not rank much with B&C but I worked for that bad boy, he's gettin mounted.
But some guys have BIG money and can afford to A. keep hunters with no control out and B. grow big ones. I think A. is really a bigger problem. I see lots of guys out there who shoot anything. A guy this year posts a photo of a baby he shot and he did not even know what bread it was. Sounds sporting. I also see and hear about many folks who take poor shots as well. A high fence allows more proper managment of the limited resources we have.
When we hunt in the open we have natural fences and I bet most of us would use them to our advantage.
Still . . .to step down off my box. . . .I will try to stay away from a high fence and be more proud of my public Deer if you will, but I understand and think that we should all be happy that we have a place to live where we all have choices and poeple around us who may not agree but allow each of us to make our oun choices in life.
