RE: Huntingnet Promotes Hunts Behind Fences!
I have no real issue with people killing animals on these farms. My beef is they are trying to sell this as a hunt equal to wild animals. Why else would they say fair chase rules apply? How could they? These places are the future of hunting in some peoples eyes. If you want real hunting to continue we need to keep these activities separate. Why would anyone want to hand ammunition to the anti-hunters? I don't defend poachers or unethical hunters for the same reason. Anti-hunters claim we don't care about the animal, we are lazy and it's all about killing and bragging. When it comes to canned hunts THEY ARE RIGHT.
The arguments we use to defend hunting do not apply to game farms. Keep in mind it's not us vs. the anti-hunting crowd, it both sides trying to influence the non-hunting public's perception. It is they after all who will determine if we can hunt in the future. They are the majority, we are a minority.
Watch The Guns of Autumn for a real perspective and you'll know what I mean. Besides the public perception of hunting game farms also have other issues like diseases and genetic pollution to consider too.
