In 2002 I had 2 friends fall from treestands and both had serious injuries 1 his life has changed forever he will never walk again .
He;s a 42 yr old and has a young family ,it's not only impacted his life but everyone around him.
The other fella was hunting in a bush behind his house and the step to his treestand broke at about 15ft and he come down hitting the ground at full force on his feet . The drop broke his leg in 6 place's and it took him 3 hr's to crawl his way out .
I never used to use a harness but after this I'll never hunt a treestand without one now.
I have fallen out of a tree.I broke a step climbing up but luckily I was only about 6 to 8 feet up and landed on my back,even at that I never learned my lesson .It took 2 good friends to seriously hurt themselves before I realized that you know it can happen to me it's happened to my friends . I certainly wouldn't want my family to have to go through all this because of my foolishness and stupidity. Please use common sense when hunting from treestand's they can and will cripple you or even kill you if you don't use your head. Tree's with 2x4's nailed to them are the worst
