I have two 22-250's & one 223 that really like the Sierra 52-grain HPBT Matchking bullet.
My pet load for both 22-250's is 40-grains of H-414 with Winchester large rifle primers.
I can not recommed the Sierra 52-grain HPBT Matchking for varmit hunting. I have been told from people on this board & from Sierra tech support that the Matchking bullets are only designed to punch holes in paper.
I must say that every coyote & rock chuck I have shot with this load dropped on the spot. Sierra tech support did tell me that 99.9% of the time that bullet should fragment just like any other varmit bullet but they will never promise it in writting.
I am now in the process of finding a good varmit bullet & load for all my varmit rifles.
