None of us have made any argument saying it's better than x,y or z for all applications. The answer to your question is marketing and lots of available options.

Want a new 7mm-08? You'll find one or two at the big shops. You can find them on the used market. But walk into nearly any gun shop and you'll find multiple 6.5 creeds available, probably from several manufacturers and makes/ models.

It's a simple as that.

Doesn't have to make sense. Doesn't need to work mathematically on the ballistics. Just what it is.
