My first was a sidelock TC in 54.
I had a lot of fun shooting all sorts of loads out of that gun edpecially patch and round ball. I went from that to an in line TC black diamond in 50 cal. It was a great gun fairly lite to carry. But wasn't a tack driver. Some of that was on me because I settled for good enough to kill a deer groups and never spent the time on it to home it in. I shot it for years then started to have issues with cocking it after 3 shots. I would take it all apart to clean then it would work OK until 3 shots. I finally figured out what was going on. Part of the stock in back of the block had broken down a very small piece. The recoil after 3 shots was pushing the trigger assembly back and it didn't have room to engage as it contacted the tang. With that gun when you broke it down for cleaning it would restore the tolerance between trigger and tang when I tightened it all back up. It drove me nuts until I figured it out. Long story short I decided to get another gun since it was a couple days before the season and the issue was getting worse and happening after 2 shots.
My local gun shop only had a few muzzleloaders left and I grabbed the CVA. That black diamond is sitting in my safe and one of these days I'll try to rebuild that stock piece the block runs up against. The cva shoots great and is way easier to break down and clean. Those TC pro hunter were indeed a great gun with all the different barrels. I had a cousin that bought one when TC was on top. He loved that gun.
