That is an issue for some. Spammers make posts and members complain. Then mods delete the spam posts. All good so far. But if members respond to spam posts (and sometimes even quote the spam post), then it either makes extra work for a mod or looks like the member responding to spam is dissing another member. I don't mid deleting spam and permabanning spammers--that's my job as a mod. But, I don't feel like it's part of my job to delete or modify members' responses to spam (no offense Jake). I feel like a member can either respond to a spammer (it's often a bot so you might as well snark to a wall) or file a complaint about said spam. If you choose to do both, the I figure it's the member's responsibility to clean up their response to spam that I've poofed. Other mods may feel different and YMMV but I got tired of doing the extra work that's member inflicted. That's my .02; now back to the topic...
