Poachers nailed
Had some poachers from quebec get caught here last week. The men started out poaching in Macklin. They were shipping deer heads home on a courier when the courier noticed one of the packages was leaking blood. The courier sent the package back to the Macklin hotel where the hotel owner contacted the game wardens. By that time the quebecer's had invaded my home town. They were shooting any deer that had horns and stashing them back in the forest. I guess they had all the holding places marked on a gps. Then the game wardens here lowered the boom on the poachers and caught them with 15 poached bucks. The men were fined 15000 dollars, lost their guns and some hunting equipment. They were also banned from hunting in Saskatchewan for 3 years. In my opinon the law should have been stiffer on these guys. They should never be allowed back here hunting or anywhere for that matter. How many times have these guys pulled a stunt like this and have not got caught. I really feel bad for non saskatchewan residents that come here to hunt because lots of people here now sterotype them all as poachers. This is not a fair assumption, there are plenty of responsible out of province hunters but lots of people here are set in their opinions. Just thought i would tell you guys the story and ask what you think about the whole situation and the fines?
