This buck is from South Western Oregon, my back yard. The big bucks down here have 10 to 15 does and fawns and right now, The rut is starting so the herd size for a buck like this will increase for a time. This deer is what locals call a benchie, a cross of mule , white tail , and of course the black tail. This type of cross breeding has been going on for many generations of black tail. Coastal Oregon black tail have gained significant size in my 60 odd years of hunting them and photographing.
He’s definitely a beautiful specimen of a deer.
