These claims of “specifically designed for precision” and talking about specialization in application, as marks of differentiation between two cartridges pumping the same bullets to the same speeds are naive, and completely worn out…
Making that claim in this particular discussion even moreso… folks talk about the proven history of the 6.5x55 as a hunting cartridge, which denies it was “specifically designed” to kill humans, and that game hunting was a secondarily realized application. Why is the Creedmoor relegated to “long range competition” rather than simply acknowledging it’s just another round sending a 140grn bullet to 2800 fps, and can do everything we’ve done for over a century with this class of cartridge…
