A specialty pistol or firearm kit like the T/C Encore isn’t affected by this new ruling, unless the owner had equipped what was formerly called a “pistol brace.” The ATF has determined that when we add a pistol brace which obviously acts as a stock, it’s actually a stock, (which is why we were adding them, fair point), so the resulting firearm is an NFA regulated SBR, no longer a pistol.

If an Encore pistol does not have a brace, or any other rearward attachment constituting a brace/stock, then it remains a pistol.
