I don't think the registry is going away, it's NB payola, and the libs love buying those maritime votes. While people are Po'd on the price, they probably aren't all that adamant about the policy. I bet it's popular in Toronto, and a nice wedge issue to hand Aliance.
Rock is history. Martin has basicaly solved the political problem for a while by dumping the old crew. I figure we can count on the registery being nixed about the time Martin follows through on his promise to scrap the GST.
You order a nice harmless lockback knife from the US, they snatch it at the border, as a gravity centrifical force job, it goes in the ledger as a seized illegal weapon - another great victory for liberal weapons policy.
