First cut it to desired length and fill the void up to about 1/2"-3/4" of end of stock with Great Stuff then fill the remainder with something like devcon 10110 after masking the outside edge of the stock. Reinstall and mark the recoil pad for fitting if necessary.
It’ll work fine, you’ll just spend a lot more to pour epoxy thick enough to create a solid buttstock “plug” than you could spend by epoxying a piece of marine board or wood into place.
