I'm going to but a 17HMR. Actually, my wife is buying it for me for Christmas. I would be happy to spend the $200 for a Leupold...but they are running a special here right now. You get the Savage heavy barrel 17, with a 3-9 Tasco scope for $199. That's dang hard to pass up. The scope sells for $59.99. That means the gun is only $140.

Anybody familiar with the new Tasco's? I never hated them, I just hated to compare them with my Leupolds...LOL

I don't need an extra scope, (I need a home for a Unertl the way it is) so buying the gun and storing the scope is not overly practical.

Any ideas on the Tasco? Should I just get the gun and add a Leupold?
