Default RE: On a guided hunt do you have to........

A lot of guided hunts just have a price that they charge for the hunt, some include eals and lodging with the price and some dont. The prices vary so much, depending on
1. length of hunt
2. time of hunt... rut is usually higher
3. whats included... meals ,lodging ,feild dressing, dragging, stands
4. where you hunt... midest, Canada, souteast, southwest
5. Caliber of animals in the area
6. reputation of guide
7. weapon used
Some high fence ranches will charge different amounts depending on the size of the animal you take, but wouldnt it suck to be told you cant affford the 180" deer standing in front of you, that you can only take a 140" or smaller because thats what you paid for.
Most legit fair chase guides have a set price they get for a hunt that they will tell all of the specifics before you book a hunt with them. But remember that many have a minimum score for the deer you shoot to keep you from taking a small buck, it helps them manage for bigger bucks and also ensures that you are more satisfied with your deer than if you just killed the first 100" buck you see. The minimums are often about 125-130" but all are different.
Call a few outfitters in the area youd like to hunt and ask them what they offer and to explain any costs you will incur, like tags. Also many guides are accustomed to getting tips just like a waiter in a restuaraunt, you may ask if they usually get tipped so you dont offend them if they expect it.
