I agree Nomercy....except for bullet diameter that is about all these 2 have in common. Its like comparing apples and oranges.
Like you I don't have a warm fuzzy using the 308 for hunting. I've had too many bad experiences with one to recommend it to anyone. I would much rather have a 243 or 7-08 in my hands than a 308. Now for shooting metal or paper I have no problem with it.
