It takes special tools to remove them, there have been MANY MANY of these Old Barrels/Breech plugs RUINED by people trying to Remove them.

I bought the Proper Tools to remove them. Rice Octagon Barrel Clamp for Bench mounted Vice

Breech Plug Sockets, i have them in 13/16, 15/16, and 1” These were made by TC, or for TC

My Reed Corp Wrench, Makes EASY work of the Job, The Key is having proper Tools, DON’T attempt this without them
