I wouldn't discourage you from using the muzzleloader though if that's what you enjoy.
I'll be using a .44 mag revolver for allot of my hunting this year. It's not the "best" by any means. But I enjoy the challenge.
Understand your tool and make your shot selections based on its capabilities and you will be fine!
