I haven't shot a Montec at a deer (yet), but I was excited to find that all 6 I bought flew right with my field points.
I will say that first resharpening of the 6 heads I bought /shot was a little bit of a process because they are ground at the factory perpendicular to the edge. When I resharpened them according to the instructions it is almost parallel to the edge. I used 400grit emery cloth layed on top of a bench stone, soft Arkansas, and a super fine black bench stone (was my Grandfather's
). They are now shaving sharp and ready for business[:-]
