It would be used for deer and possibly antelope and varmints. I currently have an Encore in .243 Win. I got it on a super deal because I was wanting a 7-08. What I'd really like an XP in would be either the 6.5CM or, like you, a 6.5-284. Right now withe the .243 I'd limit my range to 200 yards on deer size game.
