I personally like a trigger between 2 - 3 lb. But like mrbb said, it comes down to experience. A 3# trigger can be awful light on a blistery cold winter day when your fingers are almost numb.
All that being said I hunted successfully with rifles that had horrible triggers. A Remington 760 and Winchester 88 are two that immediately pop into mind. But I know there were others.
