mixture of three stable elements that do not degrade.
Pyrodex is a compound of whatever stuff they make it from.
A mixture is the physical combination of substances, bonded together in any proportion. A compound is the chemical combination of elements, bonded together in specific proportion. As such, compounds may degrade while mixtures do not degrade if the mixed substances are stable.
