Hey parnter, i live in VA and personal i own a .17 caliber Remington basically its just a .223 necked down to a .17 caliber casing and it shoots roughly 4, 063 fps. It doesnt push quite a heavy a bullet as you might like (.25 grains) but for the speed it travels it has one hell of a knock down punch. I dont know about you but thats the fastest varmint bullet i know of. They are the most accurate rifle i feel like used today for hunting coyotes, bobcats and foxes.
