I prefer all of my triggers to be under 1lb if they can be made to be securely so. Some actions just can’t go that low. I used to live by the old school “bench rifles 2-4 ounces, hunting rifles 2-4 pounds,” but the more I have shot precision rifle matches, I have simply given up on heavy triggers altogether, especially with lighter weight sporter rifles which are more easily influenced by a heavy trigger weight. So for me, 4-6 oz is ideal, or as low as the trigger design can be made to be.
