I dont know if i am aloud to post this here but i found no other forum to! On the first day of rifle season in pa, which was Monday, December 1st, i had a great day. Early in the morning the woods was crowded with hunters. I saw one deer in 6 hours. I had guys all around me. I missed a doe that was running into the woods. Then we left & got warm. There were 4 of us. We went to another spot & saw a couple more deer. Then about 310pm i was back at my stand. 2 does ran through my woods and i shot. I missed them both. I sat there as my uncle pushed for me, my brother, & my cousin angry that i missed them. About 4pm i heard a crack behind me. I turned & saw what i thought was a doe. I got my gun and saw antlers. I am a junior so i could shoot anything. (there is a "4 points on one side of a buck" rule where i hunt.) I shot right behind his shoulder. He jumped 3 ft in the air and ran. I shot with a .30-06 from about 20-25 yards away. My uncle came up the hill to my stand and we went to where i shot. There was hair and markings of a deer that was shot. We tracked him maybe 10 yards into a field & he was lying about 100 yards from me. He was down. He ended up being a 5point buck. My first deer in 4 years of hunting also turned out to be my first buck.
