A friend and I went out on Memorial Day, following news and water temps on a hot tuna bite. We got out 1.5hrs late, and ran flat out to a spot offshore the western end of Oahu. We found a few fish, some over deep structure at a place called Dogmouth, and 2 open water blind strikes. Tons of fun. The hebi (Shorbill spearfish) went about 35#, kind of on the big side of average for them. The Ahi went 110# and 85#. There's bigger ones out there, but these are decent fish for the gas we burned.
