To give you a small idea, I just found 2 .375win in a search, out of 3K savage 99's. One looked to be in pretty much the same condition as yours on the outside and it's listed for $1899. The other is a much better grade condition that looks like it was a safe queen and never shot for close to $6000. So yes I think you did fine and you could probably turn right around and make 200-300 on top of what you paid pretty easily if you wanted. I myself am looking, not hard, for one in 7mm-08. The old man fell in love with that little cartridge many years ago and I have come to love his AR 10 in that round. But I refuse to pay in upwards of $2000 for a damn lever gun that I'll be taking out into brush. Not to mention having to live with an angry wife for spending that kind of money on something I'd more than likely be scratching up.
