The direct answer is nothing--he's not looking for customers from HNI members. The long answer (more detail) is as follows:
It's part of a spam problem HNI has been dealing with. Spammers join HNI (it's free) and then begin posting innocuous or nonsense comments with links in their signature and oft times nonsense links in their posts that purport to be relevant to the topic (but often aren't). It's against the rules and they get permabanned but they're okay with that.
If somebody does a web search on the topic, the spammer's profile is still active and can draw attention to them and their website. Admin has been removing spammer profiles as fast as we report them (mods don't have authority to delete profiles). It's a lot more work for mods and Admin but it removes a lot of the spam and also removes a certain amount of the incentive for spammers to post spam on HNI.
It's not perfect and it certainly doesn't stop all spam (obviously). When you guys respond to these spammers, it's essentially frosting on the cake for them. Your responses make the topic seem like it's a legit one if a mod (or Admin) does a new post search and thus makes it harder to find unless one of us happens to read that particular topic (we don't have time to read all topics) or somebody reports it with a complaint ticket.
I've already reported this permabanned spammer to admin so they can remove his profile. I've left this topic up so people can see for themselves some of what these spammers are up to.
