Sorry for just stumbling on this site and seeing your post. I am from the general area and hunt in Wayne and Mingo counties a lot. Southern Wayne County and Mingo County are very much like Logan. Only difference is you can use a rifle in southern Wayne County.
If you are used to seeing deer every single sit, then this will be much different. You might not see a single deer, but they are there. Logan and Mingo are bow only counties and their are some very nice mature bucks in the area.
Also these deer are a lot more wild. Even a difference in hunting northern Wayne County vs Southern Wayne County. The north has a lot more population and farm land. In the south its bigger mountains (like Mingo/Logan Counties.) I hunt in places that wont see human foot prints until I go back.
KNOW THE WIND! KNOW THE WIND! KNOW THE WIND!
These mature bucks can sniff you out from a mile away. Seriously, these deer are a lot more cautious and much harder to hunt. Having said that, there's nothing like it. To hunt trophy bucks in rough terrain is an incredible experience that every hunter should enjoy at some point of their lives.
