Big Uncle

I feel this but in a different way. I love the hunt, the stalk and just being outdoors as a whole but I don't enjoy shooting anything anymore. Hunt over work begins and a beef steak is just as good as any wild game. I have started taking pictures and videos off my phone. I'm not a trophy hunter but if the animal is somewhat under what I'm going to be truly happy with why bother ending it's life. I love the hunt and that's why I go. Having a firearm, bow or muzzleloader with me and knowing if I want to take the animal is my choice becomes enough to validate my time in the woods I'd do it everyday of the year. Being a hunting guide is why I think I've come to this point. Watching others get that thrill is the same as me doing it myself.

So maybe next year take your kids or someone less experienced with you and let them take the animal and just be there for their experience and see if that don't stir something inside you.
