RE: Trail Cameras
I personally run 2 Deer Cams on my small property and I couldn' t be happier with the units. They take very good pics and the battery drain isn' t bad at all (2 AA in the camera that last over 5 rolls and 2 9volts for the " brain" that last a couple of months). The aiming LED light also acts as a battery life indicator when pushed (4 blinks for full life). The set up and delays are as easy as anything you' ll find with a simple dial, jsut turn to whatever number you' d like. They are also priced reasonably. The attachment system is nice and simple and the cable gives you an added sense of security. Add a small padlock to the bottom and you can set it and forget it. Add the optional X-pander unit and you have a huge selection of delays and even a nice double pic option that actually allows you to see how the area deer are reacting to the camera' s flash. It also protects your cameras with password protection. In the event your system was stolen, then the camera would NOT work and the red LED would flash eradically. Any one plugging in an Xpander into this unit would see your name and number branded into the eltronics. this would also get your unit back if the theif tried sending it back to Deer Cam saying that the unit wasn' t working properly. Take a serious look at this system. Between several of my buddies and myself, we have tried many different camera systems and these work excellent. Just like everythng else, you get what you pay for. Stay away from the super cheap Stealths and the like, you' ll end up with more pics of bushes and trees than critters.
