Wow. I'm amazed. I guess it's the weight or the slow velocity that 50 grains put it out at. My pure lead 350 grain .50cal conical bullets, well the only one I ever found, in the off side hide of an Elk anyway, mushroomed down to almost at the base of the bullet. But that was a slightly quarterd to me shot and hit right on the point of the shoulder. Found the bullet at the 6th rib about halfway through the hide. Chest cavity was a liquid mess. The evidence I've seen from the rest of the un-recovered were of extreme expansion with the exit wound being pretty massive. Started making them just a little harder for Elk.
