Default RE: Youth Model in 25.06?

The whole idea was to get him a full size gun instead of a youth gun that he would be able to use from now on by just putting the full size stock back on it when he grew into it. Spending a little extra now to save a lot later. Trust me, if I could somehow get a youth stock on a 25.06 it would already be under the Christmas tree.

Matt, I let him shoot my .270 a few weeks ago. After the first shot he smiled at me and said " that wasn' t as bad as I thought it was going to be" . Then after his second shot there was only about 1/2" of paper between the two holes at 50 yards. Although it was kicking the snot out of him he didn' t seem too bothered by it which gave me the idea that he would be fine with anything .270 or smaller. The full size stock was very awkward for him and it would be several years before he would grow into it.

Where we hunt there are shots over 400 yards and even though he' s not ready for anything much beyond 100 yards now but I want him to have something that will go the distance when he' s ready. The .308 in a youth model would actually be ideal for him right now but he would probably out grow it by the time he' s 12 or 13 years old. He' s just over 4 feet tall right now and if he takes after me, I was pushing 6 feet by the time I was 16.
