Default RE: Any Hunting Deer with Lever Action Rifles?

I've been using my Marlin 336C .35 Remington for 26 years. I love the way it feels. Killed several with it. Took a monster 11 pointer with it a few years ago. I hit it with the first shot, but made like the Rifleman and hit it two more times as it ran across the field. I think the first shot was fatal, but the lever action allowed me to get off two more good shots that ensured the harvest. My son is old enough to hunt next year, so I've bought a new rifle (Savage 300 WSM bolt-action), and I'll let him use my lever action . I may live to regret it - not loaning my kid my 336, but buying a bolt-action instead of another 336.
