The Banners were decent for the $ back in the day, but I saw a lot of them go back when they moved production. Cannot recommend them even for a plinker.

Cheapest scope I'd buy would be a Leupold.

Have seen cheap scopes work well for many years. Also seen them fail, and do so at higher rate.

Hunting time is precious to me, I'm not gonna add risk by trying to save a couple dollars. Yet some folks think taking vac time from work (or lost overtime) and driving a long ways, to run junk guns/scopes/ammo...............and having stuff fail, is worth it. They come into my LGS and buy another cheap replacement and give it a go next week.

Sometimes they miss a nice buck running crap, or hit and lose it. But by golly they didn't spend 100 dollars on a scope! It's like they will p*ss away a deer and a ton of time and money..............just to run a cheap gun and or scope.

I don't get it.

Maybe they have some smarter family members that own 2000 acres they get to hunt on. Maybe they get chances at big bucks multiple times a year.

If that's the case..........let them play their silly game however they wish.

Hell, they're proly gonna opt for the bead sighted rusty arse H&R break open shotgun anyway (no scope).
Not everyone has a bankroll to buy scopes.
They have to buy what they can afford.
I am not saying that Bushnell is better in any way.
For some people that is all they have the $ for.
I would love to buy a Leupold, or Nikon, or Zeiss.
But I just don't have the extra dollars.
Just Sayin.
