I would really like to get my 9 year old son a 25.06 for Christmas but.......I can' t find a youth stock for a long action rifle. He' s a little too small for the full sized stock right now but you know how fast kids grow. My plans were to get him a model 700 BDL synthetic in the 25.06, remove the factory stock, and replace it with a youth stock. My reasoning is that I will spend a few extra dollars now (well, actually $150 to $200 more) but will end up with a rifle he could use from now on. Simply replace the youth stock with the full size once he grows into it. Now I know this is going to make the gun some what front heavy but all of the hunting he does is out of a box stand with a nice shooting rest so in my opinion won' t be an issue. Does anyone know if there' s a company that makes a youth stock for a long action Rem 700? Thanks in advance.
