Try Sammy Frazier in unit 76. I believe he hunts areas around the Rio Grande Reservoir. You should be able to draw second or third season. Fifteen points is not quite enough for the top premium units or first season in 76.

I have done quite well there in both second and third season but it is always a weather gamble up there. If it gets monster storms early the elk will head down and maybe out of the unit, but fortunately storms like that are rare. One year we did get two back-to-back snows of about five feet each but most years second or third season is a good time to go.

I have not hunted with Sammy but have spent a lot of time in the unit and hunted it many times and have never heard a bad word about him or his operation. It is a small town and people talk if there is anything bad to say.

It is a good unit for a nice bull but honest 300"+ bulls are hard to come by.
