I have a pair of 1873 SAA Colt .45's and can tell you with absolutely no uncertainty that they are FAR from anemic. With my loads (240gr Cast over 31gr Swiss 3F) I have no problems whatsoever knocking hogs on their butts at 50 yards. I've chronied that load for an average of 800FPS and with those hard casts they punch right on through that cartilage and shoulder like a hot knife through butter.
