Default RE: First Year BP hunting Question

I would say depending on what weather conditions you' ve been hunting in. If it' s been raining I would say to be sure unload it. Clean and dry the rifle, then reload it. In GA our BP season is a week. I keep it loaded that entire week unless I' m lucky enough to shoot a deer or two.I had a problem with my Knight during BP season. It was my mistake and it won' t happen again. When I removed the Disc I didn' t put anything there to seal it off. It rained the entire weekend. The rain was getting in my breech plug.I shot a 5 point and instead of cleaning before reloading I reloaded before coming down. Between that and the rain I had a terrible mess when I went to shoot it out. From now on I' m going to use a fired Disc to seal it when not ready hunting. I would suggest on your Traditions when you remove the 209 primer find a way to seal it from the elements. I would have been POed if a deer came up and just a primer going off.
