Well today I shot some Hornady XTPs and Barnes MZs (300 & 295 gr respectively). Of the bullets I recovered a couple of the XTPs had the jackets separated from the core but the Barnes looked great. The front portion of the bullets expanded as it should and the rear portion, being solid copper, remained in tact. Both bullets shot equally well. I would not hesitate to use the Barnes on anything including moose and big bear. Elk would be no problem.
