No, the rock ptarmigan don't have much cover, and especially when it's getting whiter during the autumn. It's a difficult but awarding hunt!
Balder is good, but can be better! Just need to train, train and train.

At least you have Balder to help in retrieving those birds as they are some long shots and the birds drop far away sometimes. You have a good dog in Balder.
