Another great weekend!
We made our trip to Shamrock, TX this weekend. We saw several turkeys on Friday afternoon while scouting. We roosted some birds and decided we had a few toms in a spot we liked. Slipped in early Saturday morning and got a little closer than what I had thought. Bird started gobbling and finally pitched down. When he hit the ground I could see him strutting. I gave him a soft call and he spun around and triple gobbled. I told my son (DTC Jr)
to get ready that he was coming. He strutted and gobbled to about 40 yards and then spun circles for about 3 mintues. Finally he broke and came to 27 yards when I told my son to shoot. It's been a great start to our spring. A FL Osceola and now a TX rio.
