We ended up having a successful hunt, but I will save the details for a separate post. I just wanted to let you know that he has been practicing with the 20 for several months to prep for his hunt, and was shooting a .45 muzzleloader barrel on the same frame for deer last fall. He is on the light side for a 10yr-old, but the youth stock that CVA sent me fits him well and he has good form. He handles the recoil very well and has a nice trigger squeeze.
He showed that he could handle the 3" shells comfortably and effectively during a practice session a couple days before the weekend so we went ahead and used those on his first hunt Saturday morning. It worked out well. He smoked a bird at 30y like a seasoned pro
