Default RE: Suggestions on which custom recurves to look at?

chipshot - I like longbows and really haven't shot that many recurves, but two of those recurves stand out - Black Widow SA and the Brackenbury Legend. Both are higher end priced bows, both were smooth and good shooters. I'd give the edge to the Widow though, because of the finish and the reputation they have. Wouldn't buy one new, and wouldn't buy one without shooting it first for sure !!

This site, http://home.earthlink.net/~tradarcher/Linksnew.htm , has a bunch of bowyers on it. LOTS to choose from. If it were me (and its what I did when I was looking for my first bow) I'd surf all of them, write down the ones that strike your fancy, then cross reference what people say about them on the Leatherwall (stickbow.com). Then decide if you want new or used. Used bows, go to http://www.women-outdoors.com/cgi-bi...lassifieds.cgi and look at their classified. For a new bow, contact your narrowed down, chosen few and then its up to you to pick one.

I'll say this - not all bows are created equal. I got lucky I think in getting my OL Adcock bow, as all other longbows have failed to match up against it. He doesn't do recurves though. Border bows will send you a really cool CD on their bows if you request it, and the Sley bows are works of art. If your want gorgeous, check out Acadian Woods bows ....
