At 100 I would worry about putting backing on to assure myself of bullet entry angle but at 400, if your bullet isn't stabilized you sure aren't going to hit anywhere near where you are aiming.

You would not believe some of the groups I shot and some others with an un stable bullet. The .40 215grn Lehigh CF bullet in a 1/30twist 45 is the one im talking about. But in most cases I would agree with you.
