IMO Some wind is better than no wind. You can get away with few more mistakes. Now if its blowing 30mph the deer will be bedded out of the wind as was said above. Here in Oklahoma 15 to 20 mph seems like the norm during deer season and I have even turkey hunted when there were gusts over 90+mph (blowing semi-trucks over on the highway). I'd say the best time to be in the woods is whenever you can.
