As mentioned in an earlier post. I went with the modern bullets for this fall season. Below is a terminal report from a nice Mule Deer my Son shot yesterday. I should note these bullets are extremely accurate.
TC Omega 50 Cal
100 Grains of BH 209
Harvester CR / Lehigh 250 Grain .452
The shot was quartering away at about 90 yards.
The Deer:
Entry:
Exit:
The base exited just behind the front leg. One pedal went out the front of the chest, one or more created the significant tissue seen low on the chest. Per my Son, the deer traveled a few steps and collapsed.
We give these bullets two thumbs up. Very impressive performance for both accuracy and effectiveness.
On a side note. I used a CF ( shame, shame I know ) with a Barnes 140 grain TSX- BT I loaded for my 7 MM Weatherby. I took the below Whitetail with impressive terminal performance as well. I highly recommend them if you need a good CF bullet.
I will use the Lehigh 200 out of my Super Disc to fill a late season doe tag.
