Default RE: Drop net to catch minnows for bait ever try it ?

I have used an umbrella net for a couple of summers and let me tell you if you don't have one get one. I probably catch about $100 dollars worth of river minnows every summer, along with crappie, sunfish, and occasionally a softshell turtle.

jjoel the net is square and has a wire in every corner that meet in the center. And the rope is attached to the brachet in the center. U lower the net into the water and bait it with corn or bread. When you see a school of minnow around the bait you lift the net as fast as u can, trapping the minnows. If your in a good location you can easily fill the net so that you can not lift it, I have done this a couple of times. Its kinda of funny when I'm at the dam and people are watching me lift 10 pounds of minnow up the side of the dam,and the nets about to brake.
